Fullstack Engineer

Description

VergeSense (YC S17) is building easy-to-deploy advanced occupancy sensors that help real estate professionals monitor foot-traffic within buildings. Data from our platform is used to improve building layout & design, execute dynamic workforce strategies, and reduce energy costs. For large clients, the financial impact is in the tens of millions per year.

The most unique aspect of our product is simplicity - we’ve optimized by rapid-installation (no wires, no IT integration), enabling us to get into the market rapidly.

We're currently shipping ~500 units / month, but we want to grow that by 10x in the next 6 months, and 50x in the next year. We have existing customers (large B2B fortune 500 companies) who are paying us for product and expanding us across multiple locations / globally. We're generating substantial revenue and looking to double-down on our backend analytics platform to help companies make intelligent decisions about their most expensive infrastructure.

Requirements

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Developer that can take ownership of our software infrastructure - from our user-facing analytics portal, to our deployment & commissioning tools, data-management tools, monitoring systems, and APIs. Initially, we’re looking for someone who can go heads-down and crank out features. But if you have ambitions to move into a leadership role as the team grows, let’s chat.

While interest and experience in machine-learning is a nice to have, what we’re most excited about is your experience in shipping high-quality, enterprise-class software. Front-end / design experience is a major plus.

We like to move & iterate fast - going from company inception to our first product launch in 3 months. We believe in autonomy and the outsized impact that a single team member can have on a company, and you can expect to commit code on your first day and ship a feature in your first week. A core philosophy of ours is simplicity - from product design, to engineering architecture, to our day-to-day working styles. Our team is experienced (previous successful exit in the IoT space), with a commitment to a sustainable working culture built for the long-haul.

On the software-side, our current stack uses Rails, Heroku, a variety of AWS Services (AWS IoT, Redshift, DynamoDB), Periscope for data-science, and Tensorflow for machine-learning.
